Proposed Auction of Preserved Farmland

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Ocean has authorized the auctioning of two permanently preserved farmland properties designated as Tax Block 81, Lot 2.01 in Plumsted Township, containing approximately 116 acres, and Tax Block 81, Lot 2.02 in Plumsted Township, containing approximately 121 acres. The properties are proposed to be sold by Ocean County, subject to deed restriction for agricultural purposes, at an auction proposed to be held on April 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Plumsted Municipal Courtroom, New Egypt Town Hall, 121 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
Public hearings on this proposed auction shall be held:
(1) March 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Plumsted Municipal Court Room, New Egypt Town Hall, 121 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533; and
(2) March 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the 3rd Floor Conference Room, 129 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753.
At the public hearings the following will be explained:
1. The purpose of the sale.
2. The advantages and disadvantages of the proposed sale.
Information on the properties (property transfer reports) is available . Physical reports are also available for inspection at the Ocean County Department of Planning, 1st Floor, 129 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, New Jersey 08753, business days between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Written comments on the proposed sale of permanently preserved farmland should be directed

Telephone: (732) 929-2054 on or before the date of public hearings by order of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, County of Ocean, Mary Ann Cilento, Clerk of the Board. All written comments must be received by the County no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 23, 2020.

Proposed Auction of Preserved Farmland
The County of Ocean is proposing to auction two permanently preserved farmland properties in Plumsted Township. The properties will be sold subject to permanent agricultural easements.

Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund Advisory Committee
Meetings of the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust Fund Advisory Committee will be held at 5pm on the 4th Wednesday of every month except for the the combined November and December meeting. The combined meeting will be held on the 1st Wednesday of December.
