MJX - Ocean County Airport

Robert J. Miller Airpark

Welcome

Ocean County Airport is a public General Aviation Airport located in the heart of the New Jersey Pinelands. Situated just five miles southwest of the County Seat, Toms River Township, the airport provides quick access to the Jersey Shore.
The Airport covers 822 acres of the Robert J. Miller Airpark in Berkeley and Lacey Townships. This precision approach facility features two runways and a heliport, and accommodates private planes, corporate jets, and emergency services aircraft. Tenants include the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, the Civil Air Patrol, the Ocean Air Support Squadron, and the emergency medical transport of both the Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service Corporation (MONOC MedEVAC) and Hackensack Meridian Health (AirMed One).

Ocean County Airport was first opened in 1968. Since then, it has undergone much growth and development. In accordance with an agreement between the County of Ocean and the New Jersey Pinelands Commission, the Airport will not be expanded beyond its current boundaries, and all future improvements must conform to the original plan for the Airport dating back to the 1960s.

The Ocean County Department of Planning assumed responsibility for the administration of the Airport in the early 1990s. Since 1991, over $33 million worth of improvements have been made to the facility. Over $27 million in funding for these projects has come in the form of grants from either the Federal Aviation Administration or the New Jersey Department of Transportation – Division of Aviation.

Deputy Director Frank Sadeghi and Commisioner Robert S. Arace are the Airport Liaisons on behalf of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, and the Airport is administered by the Ocean County Department of Planning.
