Ocean County Department of Planning

The 21st edition of the Ocean County Data Book is now available on the Planning website. This comprehensive 123-page report includes the most current demographics for Ocean County and its municipalities from the US Census Bureau, American Community Survey, NJ Department of Labor and other sources. This publication was prepared by Planning Department staff and printed in-house.

The Data Book provides a snapshot to the demographic, housing social, economic, environmental characteristics of the County and its municipalities. It is used for planning, for determining the location of services, infrastructure improvement and schools, business decisions and much more. The Data Book also provides useful information, such as county, municipal and business contacts.

Ocean County recognizes the importance of this data and that is why it was an active partner with the US Census Bureau last year to get out the count for Census 2020. We should be starting to see the 2020 data be released starting this year with basic population counts and more detailed data in the future. Planning staff will update the Data Book online as this new data is released.
