PUBLIC NOTICE
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the County of Ocean and Township of Little Egg Harbor have filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Transactions and Public Land Administration, proposing to transfer ownership of parkland between the Township of Little Egg Harbor and the County of Ocean. The purpose of this exchange is to consolidate ownership for administration and management of public open space. No development of parkland is proposed as part of this transfer.

The parkland to be transferred by the Township of Little Egg Harbor to the County of Ocean are designated as Block 109, Lots 46, 54, 99/ Block 126, Lots 21, 24, 25, 26/ Block 269, Lots 3, 9/ Block 326.201, Lots 63, 64/ Block 326.203, Lots 2-22 all in the Township of Little Egg Harbor and containing approximately 86.082 acres and is subject to Green Acres restrictions. The Green Acres restrictions will be transferred with the parkland and will run with the property in perpetuity.

The parkland to be transferred by the County of Ocean to the Township of Little Egg Harbor are designated as Block 326, Lots 27, 27.01, 62/ Block 326.33, Lot 46 all in the Township of Little Egg Harbor and containing approximately 42.01 acres and is subject to Green Acres restrictions. The Green Acres restrictions will be transferred with the parkland and will run with the property in perpetuity.

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-25.5(a)3, a hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held at: Little Egg Harbor Township Municipal Building, 665 Radio Rd. Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08087 at 6:00 p.m. on October 20, 2022.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:12-15.4, lands acquired with county open space trust funds may be conveyed or transferred, subject to the requirements therein, including the requirement to conduct one public hearing in the County Seat which will be held at: Ocean County Engineering Conference Room, 129 Hooper Ave, 3rd Floor, Toms River, NJ 08754 at 6:00 p.m. on November 3, 2022.

Public comment on this proposed transfer request will be accepted during the public hearing or until November 17, 2022. On or after Friday November 18, 2022 the County of Ocean and Township of Little Egg Harbor may take formal action to approve the proposed change in purpose or use and exchange of land.
